Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, “typically prompts the world’s largest annual migration,’’ with billions of people from the world celebrating. The 2024 CNY official holiday will last from February 10th to 17th, while the actual vacation time will range from the beginning to the end of February according to the arrangement of different enterprises.
During this period, most of the factories will close and the transport capacity of all means of transport will be greatly reduced. The number of shipping package is greatly increasing, while the post office and customs will have holiday off during this time, which directly affect the handling time. The usual consequences include longer delivery and shipping times, flight cancellations, and so on. And some courier companies will stop taking new orders in advance because of the full shipping space.
Since the Lunar New Year is approaching, it’s strongly recommended to have an estimation of your product demand of the Q1 of 2024, not only before the CNY, but also the post-year demand to make sure you have enough stock for your customers.
